Saturday 23rd November 2013 - There was drama at Bidii Primary School in Uasin Gishu County after a head teacher engaged in a fist fight with his junior over soda. The school was holding nursery graduation ceremony and parents were present. After the many speeches and entertainment, snacks were served and soda was part of the menu.
The junior teacher was the first one to pick the drink since it was being served in no particular order. When it reached the turn for the headteacher to pick, he insisted that the junior teacher had taken his brand – Stoney. An argument broke out with the head teacher insisting that the junior teacher returned the bottle he had taken.
The other teacher refused saying that it was first come first served. Furthermore he justified that he had a cold and the soda would do him good. Not accepting defeat, the headteacher stood up from where he was seated and started throwing punches at the teacher.
Parents and pupils rushed out of the graduation square fearing that the matter may get out of hand. Guards had to intervene and stop the fight. A watchman was sent to bring the headteacher a crate of Stoney soda to quench his abnormal thirst.
