FROM MY INBOX:
MATTERS ARISING FROM WOMEN'S DAY
I am a female teacher at a secondary school. On Women's Day, the school ordered suits for us females but I had no size because they were too large for me. The school administration through the social committee promised to find my size instead but could not. So, instead I asked them to just give me cash worth the suit, with thoughts of buying myself a suit that fits me.
After Women's Day passed they are now refusing to give me the money for me to find a suit for my size. They are saying they will only give me back my K160.00 (the amount each female teacher contributed towards the suit). They say I will not be given the K300.00 that the school topped up for a suit to make K460.00 for a suit for each female teacher.
Is this fair, and what should I do? Get my K160.00 only or fight for the total K460 money or what now?
