They have been through enough. We cannot leave them in the dark After witnessing the darkest period of the last century, thousands of Holocaust survivors are now entering the final phases of their lives. 23% of Holocaust survivors live in poverty in Israel. Some have to decide between much needed medicine or their next meal. Latet's Humanitarian Aid provides hundreds of monthly food packages to these needy people. Alex, was only five years old during the Holocaust and watched his mother and brothers being shot before his eyes. Today he is 78 years old, a recent widower and fights to get by on a daily basis. "I open that crate…[and] I say, "Thank you, God. You haven't forgotten me." Give Alex along with all these special survivors a happy and bright Chanukah! They have been through enough. We cannot leave them in the dark….
