The U.S. Department of State is proud to launch Global Partnerships Week 2015 (GPW), March 9–15, 2015, which celebrates the critical role public-private partnerships play in promoting diplomacy and development around the world.

GPW kicks off today with the full-day Global Partnership Practitioners Forum conference, held at the State Department in Washington, D.C.  At this event, practitioners from the U.S. government, foreign governments, NGOs, and the private sector come together to discuss best practices in building public-private partnerships to address global challenges.

Other events and activities are being organized by outside organizations and individuals around the world to foster, support, and highlight the impact of cross-sector collaboration, as well as showcase potential partnership opportunities locally.  GPW events range from small networking gatherings to large scale events and workshops.  The 2015 events include a live online discussion hosted by Business Fights Poverty, the Fish 2.0 South Pacific Workshop in Fiji, an evening reception to open the USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia in Bangkok, and Sister Cities International’s 2015 Diplomatic Gala in Washington.  A full list of events can be found here.

The week is an effort led by the Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships (S/GP), in collaboration with the U.S. Agency for International Development and Concordia, and with support from the United Nations Foundation and .CO.

Additional information on GPW can be found at p3.co.  Follow GPW on social media with #gpw2015, @GPatState, @usaid, and @ConcordiaSummit
