May is Older Americans Month, and in honor of the occasion, the Department will host a Google+ Hangout at 1:00 PM EDT on Thursday, April 24 to discuss travel considerations for older U.S. citizens interested in retiring or traveling abroad, including passports, safety, receiving benefits abroad, and adventure travel.

On hand to answer questions will be Deputy Assistant Secretary for Overseas Citizens Services James Pettit and Regina and Pat, hosts of the PBS show, “Grannies on Safari.” Janice Waugh, founder of Solo Traveler, will moderate the discussion.

The event will be broadcast live on the Department of State’s YouTube channel and Google+ page. Questions can be submitted in advance via Facebook and Twitter using #AskTravelGov and tweeting at @StateDept or @TravelGov.
