Press Releases: Under Secretary Gottemoeller Travels to Jordan, Romania, India, Russia and the United Kingdom 11/13/2014 01:55 PM EST Under Secretary Gottemoeller Travels to Jordan, Romania, India, Russia and the United Kingdom Media Note Office of the Spokesperson Washington, DC November 13, 2014 Rose Gottemoeller, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, will travel to the Dead Sea, Amman, New Delhi, Moscow and London to a attend a series of conferences, events, and bilateral meetings from November 14 to November 26. From November 15-16, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will travel to Jordan. On November 15, she will participate in the 2014 Integrated Field Exercise VIP Day hosted by the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization. On the 16th, the Under Secretary will join U.S. Ambassador Alice Wells and Department of Energy Assistant Secretary Anne Harrington for a STEM Event at the Jubilee School in Amman, Jordan. Later that day, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will meet Jordanian officials to discuss bilateral issues. From November 17-18, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will have a series of bilateral meetings with her Romanian counterparts on matters relating to international security. While in Bucharest, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will also deliver remarks at the 2014 AIAA Multinational Ballistic Missile Defense Conference and at the Romanian National Defense University. She will also speak with Saint Sava National College students about STEM education. From November 19-20, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will be in New Delhi to co-chair the U.S.-India Strategic Security Dialogue with Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh. The Under Secretary will also meet with other Indian counterparts on matters of international security. From November 21-22, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will participate in the Moscow Nonproliferation Conference in Moscow, Russia. She will take part in a conference panel discussion about the elimination of Syria’s chemical weapons program. From November 24-25, Under Secretary Gottemoeller will meet with UK counterparts in London, England on matters of arms control and international security.
