Call for Papers REPOA’s 20th Annual Research Workshop (ARW)      Theme:       Harnessing Natural Resources for Socioeconomic Transformation

REPOA’s Annual Research Workshop (ARW) is the largest and high profile annual event hosted in Tanzanian since 1995. The main objectives of the event are to disseminate research findings as a mean to promote informed policy dialogue and to contribute to towards policy making; to provide peer review as capacity building for researchers; and to provide a networking forum among development stakeholders. Attracting over two hundred researchers, development partners, policy makers and representatives from civil society organisations from Tanzania and internationally, this national forum makes an essential contribution to development in Tanzania. Objective of this workshop: To address the role of natural resources in bringing about socioeconomic transformation, and to promote policy dialogue based on evidence from research on matters related to the management of natural resources and transformation of the economy to achieve inclusive development. Inclusive development is attained only if the majority of the present and future generations of citizens benefit from economic growth.  Seeking to draw existing knowledge from among researchers and other stakeholders on all aspects embraced in the theme, REPOA invites papers to be presented at the 20th ARW on 25th and 26th March 2015. Papers must conform to standard practices for potential publication in our working paper series, an edited manuscript or journals. Kindly note that priority will be given to papers that are research based.   Applicants Requirements:     Applicants must read and understand the concept note available on our website before submitting their papers.  Applicants are encouraged to submit abstracts of their papers in advance of their papers to facilitate workshop planning and allocation of presentations.   Deadline for submission: Wednesday, 15th October, 2014.   Please send your paper to REPOA through email at: repoa@repoa.or.tz and send copy of the email to the Director of Programme Support at jngwegwe@repoa.or.tz.
