OBSERVATIONS ON GOVERNMENT
1. There are severe limits to the good that the government can do for the economy, but there are almost no limits to the harm it can do.
2. Everything the government touches turns to crap.
3. The government solution to a problem is usually as bad as the problem.
4. Giving money and power to the government is like giving car keys and whisky to teenage boys.
5.The government is good at one thing...it knows how to break your legs, and then hand you a crutch and say, 'See, if it weren't for the government you wouldn't be able to walk'.
6. Every time government attempts to handle our affairs, it costs more and the results are worse than if we had handled them ourselves
7. Think about what government does; government wastes most of what it spends.
8. A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.
9. A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have.
10. Government is a health hazard. Governments have killed more people than cigarettes or unbuckled seat belts ever have
11. Constitutional provisions are not barriers to government misconduct. At best, they can be speed bumps.
12. Government is not compassion ... Government is nothing more than structured, widespread coercion .
13. Feeling good about government is like looking on the bright side of any catastrophe. When you quit looking on the bright side, the catastrophe is still there.
14. If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.
15.What the government is good at is collecting taxes, taking away your freedoms and killing people. It's not good at much else.
16.If a government were put in charge of the Sahara Desert, within five years they'd have a shortage of sand
17. Government money is as addictive as heroin. So many people are addicted. And the politicians are the dealers.
18. The natural tendency of every government is to grow steadily worse -- that is, to grow more satisfactory to those who constitute it and less satisfactory to those who support it.
19.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth!
20. Any time you give power to government, it will be abused, it will be enlarged, it will be used in ways you never intended.
21. Government is actually the worst failure of civilized man.
22. If government is the answer, it must have been a stupid question.
