[wanabidii] I wanna do Something Important

I want to do something important, something to do with educating our people about simple values in life; things like humility, honesty, benevolence, social cohesion, respect for each other, respect for the law and the importance of hard work.

My preferred venue would be through a TV program or a segment in the news. I would come in and highlight a theme for the day e.g. humility. I would tell a story about how lack of humility led one person astray and how someone else benefited from being humble. I would then invite the viewers to send in their stories of similar nature. I would read them  and rank them then choose the winning story. The winner gets a cheque for 100k. Kenyans are motivated by cash.

People would really focus on this program and start discussing such basic values in their homes, schools, churches and workplaces. The country would start thinking seriously about how these values relate to the economic, political and social plight of our country.

What do you guys think of such a concept?
