CBEC investigated 12 major undervaluation cases
CBEC investigated 12 major undervaluation cases involving a total duty amount of 135.70 crore rupees in the last fiscal, Parliament was informed today. Cases of undervaluation or over-valuation of imports are booked on intelligence inputs received, Sinha added.

RBI sets rupee reference rate at 66.5830 against USD
The Reserve Bank of India today fixed the reference rate of the rupee at 66.5830 against the US dollar and 75.9313 for the euro. These rates were 66.5105 and 76.3807 respectively yesterday. The SDR-rupee figure will be based on this rate, the statement added.

Income tax refunds worth Rs 1.22 lakh crore
The Income Tax department has issued 2.10 crore refunds totalling over 1.22 lakh crore rupees in 2015-16, which saw 94 per cent of the returns being filed online. Indirect tax to GDP ratio for the current Financial Year 2016-17 is estimated to be 5.20 per cent, the ministry said.
