Secretary of State John Kerry to Deliver Remarks at the National Defense University

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will deliver remarks on the United States foreign policy agenda for 2016 at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, at the National Defense University, in Washington, D.C. The Secretary’s remarks will highlight themes outlined by President Obama in his State of the Union Address the night before.

Secretary Kerry will be introduced by National Defense University President Major General Frederick M. Padilla, USMC.

The event will be open press. All media must RSVP to mark.phillips.civ@ndu.edu no later than 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12.

All media attendees must present a government-issued photo identification (driver’s license or passport) in order to gain access to Fort McNair and National Defense University.

Pre set time for video: 8:30 a.m. at the 2nd Street gate at Fort McNair

Final access time for writers and still photographers: 10:00 a.m. at the 2nd Street gate at Fort McNair

Secretary Kerry’s remarks will be streamed live on www.state.gov.

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).
