The United States welcomes the appointment of Mr. Francois Lounceny Fall, former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Guinea, as Deputy Chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) for South Sudan. The Members of the Troika (United States, United Kingdom, and Norway) will continue to work closely with the JMEC Chair and Deputy Chair to support the South Sudanese people in reconciling their differences, implementing meaningful reforms, and rebuilding their nation. |
