This week, the State Department’s new U.S. Study Abroad Office launched the Study Abroad Knowledge Network, studyabroad.state.gov, to connect individuals and institutions with resources that help diversify and increase Americans’ participation in study abroad programs. Only one in ten U.S. undergraduates study abroad before graduating, so more must be done to ensure U.S. students from all backgrounds gain the international skills they need to succeed in today’s global environment. See more here.

This new website provides resources for high school and university students, scholars, educators, and institutions. Users can find information on the value of study abroad and the types of opportunities available, study abroad safety and security, and U.S. and foreign government programs and scholarships supporting study abroad. They can also ask questions and engage with study abroad program experts via the U.S. Study Abroad Facebook page for students and families or the LinkedIn group for the higher education community.

For press inquiries, please contact the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at ECA-Press@state.gov, 202-632-6452.
