Deputy Secretary Blinken to Deliver Remarks at a Reception on the Occasion of the 45th OAS General Assembly

Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken will deliver brief remarks at a reception held on the occasion of the Forty-Fifth Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) on Monday, June 15, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the Benjamin Franklin Room. The Deputy Secretary’s remarks will be livestreamed at www.state.gov.

OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro Lemes and Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta Jacobson will also participate in the reception.

Deputy Secretary Blinken will lead the U.S. delegation to the OAS General Assembly. The General Assembly will take place in Washington, D.C., June 15-16, at OAS headquarters with the theme of “The Present and Future of the OAS,” and will be the first under the leadership of Secretary General Almagro, who assumed office on May 26.

The opening remarks at this reception are open to the press.

Pre-set time for video cameras is 6:00 p.m. from the C Street entrance.

Final access time for journalists and still photographers: 6:30 p.m. from the C Street Entrance.
