Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken will lead a Town Hall discussion on the U.S.-Japan relationship Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Dean Acheson Auditorium in the Harry S. Truman Building. During the event, Deputy Secretary Blinken will address the strength and importance of the U.S.-Japan partnership. Deputy Secretary Blinken’s address will be open to the public and streamed live online at www.state.gov. We invite members of the public to submit questions to Deputy Secretary Blinken in advance of and during the event through Twitter, using the hashtag #USAJapan70. The U.S. Department of State is pleased to host this event in cooperation with the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission, an independent federal agency dedicated to deepening the ties between the people of the United States and Japan, and which celebrates this year its 40th anniversary. Ms. Sheila A. Smith, Senior Fellow for Japan Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations and Vice Chair of the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission, will moderate the event.
