It's remembered as a European conflict, but one hundred years ago the British and German Empires also fought the First World War in East Africa. The struggle over present-day Tanzania left an untold legacy that this debate will uncover. The BBC'sAudrey Brown will be joined by some of the world's greatest experts in World War One: The South African historian Bill Nasson and the India historian Santanu Das are coming to Tanzania and will be joined by Oswald Masebo from Dar es Salaam University. He will present an essay on the Tanzanian Memory of The Great War.
Make history with the British Council and the BBC: come and join the debate and take part in the BBC recording. The event will be in English.
