...Melinda Gates wins Chatham House Prize 2014

Her Majesty The Queen visited Chatham House on Tuesday to officially launch the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership in International Affairs.


Tomorrow evening, Melinda Gates will receive the Chatham House Prize 2014 at Banqueting House, London.


Plus, David Heymann discusses the Queen's concerns about malaria and other infectious diseases, and a new paper explores Asia's strategies for coping with volatile capital flows between stable and emerging markets.


Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, formally launched the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership in International Affairs at Chatham House on 18 November 2014.

Her Majesty's concerns about infectious diseases beyond Ebola are well-founded. Malaria and other preventable diseases cannot be neglected if we are to build strong public health security, says David Heymann.

Melinda Gates, Chatham House Prize 2014 winner, will be at Chatham House on Friday  for a discussion with Robin Niblett. Later she will receive the Prize in a ceremony at Banqueting House in London. She has been awarded the Prize in recognition of her philanthropic commitment and humanitarian efforts and her tireless work to improve the health of women and children through increased access to family planning, simple newborn interventions, lifesaving vaccines and better nutrition.
