Tu B'Shevat is the special holiday of planting trees in Israel and this year – on Tu B'Shevat (THIS Monday, Jan 25th !!) – we will be begin planting an entire vineyard in memory of Ezra Schwartz.
Ezra was the young American Yeshiva student who was tragically murdered in November, together with two other Jews. In his memory – people all across the world – are being asked to plant at least one tree in this special vineyard.
As you probably recall, this murder made international headlines when the New England Patriots – in an NFL game watched by millions of fans – stood in a moment of silence for Ezra.
Ezra was born and raised in Sharon, Massachusetts and was a proud fan of the Patriots and Robert Kraft, owner of the team, felt that this was his way to memorialize and remember him.
