Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Catherine Russell will convene experts, practitioners, and politicians for the Women and Foreign Policy: Election Season event at the Department of State on November 12 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The program will include a panel discussion on the global state of women in politics. Featured speakers – including women politicians from Tunisia and Afghanistan and experts from the International Republican Institute and the National Democratic Institute – will explore the best ways to empower women in elections. The event will also feature scenes from the film The Supreme Price. This is the second event in a series of forums hosted by Ambassador Russell. The Women and Foreign Policy series looks at the relationship between gender inequality and foreign policy, with a focus on solutions and best practices. This event is open to press.
