On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I would like to congratulate the people of the Federated States of Micronesia as you celebrate the 29th anniversary of your country’s independence this November 3rd. The Federated States of Micronesia and the United States of America have a special relationship, underpinned by our Compact of Free Association. Together, we take on global issues including combating climate change, advancing sustainable development, and promoting human rights and democracy. We work together to keep our two countries safe through the service and sacrifice of our men and women in the United States Armed Forces. We look forward to further deepening our partnership with the Federated States of Micronesia. And we wish you all the best for continued peace and prosperity. |
