Ms. Peeples, from Amarillo, Texas, was selected by the Council of Chief State School Officers for her professional accomplishments that represent the highest standards of excellence in American teaching. During her tour of the Middle East, Ms. Peeples is speaking to government officials, educators, students, and the general public about American education, drawing on her experience teaching English to students from diverse backgrounds. Through participation in the State Department’s speaker program, Ms. Peeples has joined with many other outstanding Americans to share her skills and perspectives with people around the world.
