Special Advisor for Children's Issues Travels to Macau, the Philippines, and Japan

Special Advisor for Children’s Issues Ambassador Susan Jacobs will visit Macau, the Philippines, and Japan, June 24–July 2.

In Macau, Special Advisor Jacobs will participate in a conference entitled, “Towards the Well-Being of the Child Through the Hague Child Abduction and Protection of Children Conventions: An Asia-Pacific Symposium.” She will also discuss with participating country delegations opportunities to strengthen partnerships and accession to the Hague Abduction Convention.

Special Advisor Jacobs will visit the Philippines and meet with government officials and non-governmental organizations to discuss the Hague Adoption and Abduction Conventions. She will complete her trip with a visit to Japan where she will discuss continued cooperation consistent with the Abduction Convention and resolution of pre-Hague Convention cases.
