Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy R. Sherman will travel to Ottawa, Canada, May 21. She will lead the U.S. delegation to the sixth U.S.-Canada High-Level Policy Review Group, co-chaired by Canadian Political Director and Assistant Deputy Minister for International Security and Political Affairs Kerry Buck. The Review Group will discuss a broad range of bilateral, regional, and global issues that require cooperation, to include dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

The U.S. delegation will include Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs John Desrocher; Director for Regional and Security Policy Sherri Holliday-Sklar, Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs; Director for Russia Kathleen Kavalec, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs; Acting Director for Canadian Affairs Karen Choe-Fichte, Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs; Senior Adviser to the Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, Tim Vuono; Senior Advisor to the Special Envoy for Middle East Peace Michael Yaffe; Deputy Director for Regional Security Affairs Carl Paschall, Bureau of African Affairs; and Deputy Director in the Office of Afghanistan Affairs Tim Wilder.

Canada, one of our closest allies, friend, and neighbor, plays a key role on the international stage regarding a wide range of global and regional issues. The United States welcomes the opportunity to utilize the High-Level Policy Review Group to further enhance our deep bilateral relationship. Regular high-level dialogue between senior leaders from both governments advances our common goals around the world.
