Who built the monuments of Mamallapuram? Most scholars believed that they were built by three kings, Mamalla Narasimha, his grandson Parameshvara and his son Rajasimha. When veteran archaeologist R Nagaswamy wrote a paper in 1962 arguing that Rajasimha Pallava was the sole author of all the monuments in Mamallapuram, it raised many eyebrows.
