Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) appoints new Dubai CEO
AGCS has identified substantial potential for growth in MENA

Willem van Wyk has more than 25 year's insurance experience; he started his career at AGCS as the Head of Market Management Australia in May 2008. Before that, he was Head of Business Development for a global broker in Dubai and Regional Manager for an insurer in South Africa.
He will lead the insurer's Dubai office, which brings together AGCS's expertise including Property, Liability, Financial Lines, Engineering, Energy and Marine. The MENA Region is a significant strategic segment for AGCS. The company plans continued growth, in line with its strategy of global diversification.
Carsten Scheffel, Chief Regions & Markets Officer, commented, "We are very pleased to see Willem assume this new role, bringing a lot of experience and expertise in a growth market for AGCS. He has developed our Australian business in recent years with great success.
