The United States strongly condemns al-Shabaab’s terrorist attack on the Maka al-Mukarama Hotel in Mogadishu yesterday. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the innocent victims killed in the attack and our regrets to the many who were injured. The United States praises the Somali forces for their response to this terrorist attack. The United States stands with the Somali people and their government as they bring stability, security, and prosperity to all Somalis. We will not be swayed by cowardly terrorist attacks, but will work together for a brighter future. |
