Ambassador William R. Brownfield, Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, will travel to Bangladesh December 6-8.

Ambassador Brownfield will meet with government officials to discuss U.S. support for policing, border security, and criminal justice efforts in Bangladesh. He will also deliver remarks at the regional Good Giving Counterterrorism Financing Training Conference, and will be joined there by Bangladesh Law Minister Anisul Huq and approximately 40 attendees from Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, and Pakistan.

The United States and Bangladesh partner on a variety of security issues, including community policing, as well as technical assistance and capacity building to improve Bangladesh’s criminal justice systems.
