On Tuesday, September 16, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy R. Sherman will receive the Trainor Award for Distinction in the Conduct of Diplomacy and present a lecture entitled “US Policy in the Middle East: Present Course, Future Direction.” The Trainor Award is presented annually by the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy in Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service to an outstanding American or foreigner for distinction in the conduct of diplomacy. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Georgetown University’s Lohrfink Auditorium (2nd floor, Hariri Building). The event will be streamed live at http://www.ustream.tv/GeorgetownLive. The remarks will be open to the press. Cameras will need to be preset by 5:30 p.m. Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).
