The Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations Announces the Design Architect for the New U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey

The Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) has selected Ennead Architects of New York, New York as the architect for the new U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey.

The multi-building complex will be situated on a nine-acre site in the Karakusunlar neighborhood, and will include a chancery, U.S. Marine Corps residence, warehouse, support annex, utility building, parking garage, and community facilities. A construction award for the project is anticipated in fiscal year 2016.

OBO’s mission is to provide safe, secure, and functional facilities that represent the U.S. government to the host nation and support our staff in the achievement of U.S. foreign policy objectives. These facilities should represent U.S. values and the best in U.S. architecture, engineering, technology, sustainability, art, culture, and construction execution.
