The Zambian government has deployed 200 police officers at the volatile Kasumbalesa Border Post as they hope to arrest the highly compromised security situation in the area.
Truck drivers have been reluctant to cross into the Democratic Republic of Congo following the regular deaths by shooting in the neighbouring country.
Last week the situation blew out of proportion after a Zambian driver was shot dead in the DR Congo with drivers staging a five days protest.
Barely a day after calling off the protest, another driver of Zimbabwean origin was shot dead on the Zambian side of the border.
The 100 police officers deployed are expected to calm things as the two countries struggle to keep their relations warm.
