Wabunge wanaowakilisha Tanzania katika Bunge la Afrika Mashariki (EALA) wamempongeza Rais Jakaya Kikwete kufuatia hotuba yake aliyoitoa Bungeni Dodoma tarehe 07/11/2013 kuhusu Mustakabali wa Jumuiya Hiyo.
Hayo yamesemwa na Mwenyekiti wa wabunge hao Mh. Adam Kimbisa wakati wa mkutano na waandishi wa habari leo jijini Dar es salaam.
Mh. Kimbisa amesema wabunge hao wanampongeza Mh. Rais kwa kuchukua fursa ya kuongea na Watanzania kupitia Bunge na kueleza masuala kadhaa baina ya Nchi wanachama na hali ya hivi sasa ndani ya Jumuiya.
Akifafanua zaidi Mh. Kimbisa amesemaMh. Rais amefanya uchambuzi wa kina kuhusu matatizo yaliyoikumba jumuiya ya Afrika Mashariki kufuatia mikutano mitatu iliyofanywa na nchi tatu za Kenya,Uganda na Rwanda ikiwatenga Tanzania na Burundi.
Alieleza zaidi kuwa wabunge wa bunge hilo wanaungana na Watanzania wengi kuhusu kuwepo kwa shirikisho la Afrika Mashariki lakini wanataka hatua hiyo isifanywe haraka bali kwa umakini mkubwa,sera ambayo pia Serikali ya Tanzania imeipa kipaumbele.
Pia alisema jambo la msingi ambalo mkataba wa uanzishwaji wa jumuiya umesema ni kuwa Jumuiya lazima iwe ni ya wananchi kwa manufaa ya wananchi na isiwe ya viongozi ambapo wananchi watashirikishwa katika kila hatua na kila ngazi ili waweze kushiriki kikamilifu kwa ajili ya maslahi yao.
Katika hatua nyingine wabunge hao waliipongeza Serikali kwa hatua iliyochukua kwa kuwarejesha makwao wahamiaji haramu kutoka Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, DRC nchi nyingine ambao walitishia na kuharibu hali ya usalama na mazingira katika maeneo ya Mikoa ya Kagera,Geita na Kigoma.
Aidha wabunge hao wameiomba Serikali iendelee kusimamia suala hilo kwani baadhi ya wahamiaji haramu wameanza kurejea katika maeneo husika na wananchi wameanza kutoa malalamiko dhidi ya wahamiaji haramu.
