There are people keen on outing witnesses in the Kenya case at the International Criminal Court (ICC), its Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda has said.
In a radio interview with the BBC, Ms Bensouda said there were "elements actively working to out witnesses".
She said partly for this reason, the Kenya case was turning out to be one of the most challenging before The Hague court currently.
Charges have been confirmed against four prominent Kenyans following the violence that followed a disputed presidential election in 2007. The chaos left more than 1,100 killed and 600,000 displaced.
The accused are Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Eldoret North MP William Ruto, former head of civil service Francis Muthaura and radio presenter Joshua arap Sang.
Mr Kenyatta and Mr Ruto have since joined together into a coalition and are running jointly for president and deputy president in next months elections.
Hearing of the case is scheduled to begin on April 10 at The Hague.

KENYA: International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda has warned of numerous attempts by Kenyan suspects to interfere with their investigations.
She said her office has notified the Chamber on several occasions of systematic attempts by the accused and their associates to identify and approach those co-operating with the court's investigation.
She said the relevance of the incidents would help the judges understand the unique pressure on her witnesses, which will in turn assist the Chamber in assessing their trial testimony.
"The Prosecution has notified the Chamber on several occasions of systematic attempts by the accused and their associates to identify and approach those co-operating with ICC investigation," Ms Bensouda said in her observations ahead of the pre-status conference on February 14.
In the submission dated Wednesday, the prosecutor reiterated she reserves the right to request the Chamber to issue warrants of arrest against the suspects.
She said such a warrant could be issued should the accused violate conditions of their summonses, including attending trial.
"The prosecution reserves the right to request the Chamber under Articles 58 and 64(6)(a) of the Statute and Rule 119(4) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence for warrants of arrest," she said.

In the end all will stand before the judgement seat and an account of all that they did shall be opened .ICC or no ICC the truth will prevail !
