The second annual meeting of the U.S.-EU Cyber Dialogue will take place Monday, December 7, 2015 in Washington, DC, and will reinforce and broaden cooperation on cyber issues as envisioned during the 2014 U.S.-EU Summit. The agenda for the dialogue includes discussions on international security in cyberspace; developments in Internet governance; the promotion and protection of human rights; capacity building; and the calendar of upcoming events, including the imminent United Nations General Assembly High Level Meeting on the 10-Year review of the World Summit on the Information Society. The United States and the European Union work in close coordination on cyber-related issues both bilaterally and in multilateral fora. This cooperation is founded on our shared values, our interest in an open and interoperable Internet, and our commitment to a multi-stakeholder approach to Internet governance, Internet freedom, and the protection of human rights in cyberspace. International cyberspace developments are central to our broader foreign and security policy, and are key elements of our strategic partnership. Co-chairs of the meeting are Christopher Painter, Coordinator for Cyber Issues at the U.S. Department of State, and Joelle Jenny, Director for Security Policy and Conflict Prevention for the European External Action Service (EEAS). U.S. participants will include officials from the Departments of State, Justice, Homeland Security, Commerce, and Treasury. EU participants will consist of officials from the EEAS, the European Commission, the EU Delegation to the United States, and EU member states. Officials will also engage in a stakeholder roundtable discussion with representatives of industry trade associations, think tanks/academia, and civil society organizations.
