On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I would like to congratulate the people of the Kingdom of Cambodia as you celebrate the 62nd anniversary of your nation’s independence this November 9. The United States and Cambodia enjoy a dynamic partnership, strengthened by our mutual commitment to building ever more peace, prosperity, and cooperation in the region. We in the United States are proud of our strong economic and cultural ties to Cambodia. The United States remains a top destination for Cambodian students studying abroad, and tens of thousands of U.S. travelers visit Cambodia each year to experience the extraordinary natural and cultural wonders of the country. The United States also celebrates the vibrant community of Cambodian-Americans, who are making substantial contributions to the culture and development of the United States and their native land. I wish all Cambodians around the world peace and prosperity over the coming year. |
