Acting Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation To Travel to Istanbul for OIC Conference of Health Ministers

Acting Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Arsalan Suleman will travel to Istanbul November 16-19, 2015 to participate in the 5th OIC Conference of Health Ministers.

Acting Special Envoy Suleman will deliver remarks detailing U.S.-OIC cooperation on health issues, including global polio eradication and promotion of maternal and child health in OIC member states, in line with the recent adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Additionally, Acting Special Envoy Suleman will encourage further OIC participation in the Global Health Security Agenda, a multi-lateral and multi-sectoral partnership launched in 2014 aimed at accelerating progress toward a world safe and secure from infectious disease threats.
