Gold ends steady, silver firms up on industrial offtake
Gold prices ended steady at Rs 26,600 per 10 grams at the bullion market on Friday on scattered buying from jewellers even as the metal weakened overseas.

Sensex surges 500 points on Fed's status quo
US Federal Reserve's decision to not raise interest rates in the world's largest economy, mainly due to the fragile global macroeconomic conditions, led to a strong rally on Dalal Street on Friday morning with the sensex up about 450 points at around 26,400 level. Nifty on the NSE too gained about 130 points with the index above 8,000 mark again after three weeks.

Sinha asks industry to refrain from seeking concessions
