John Magufuli has been left far behind the CHADEMA/UKAWA candidate Hon. Edward Lowassa. The ABC News quoted the report named ''TZ Opinion Poll Report, page 23'' that Lowassa is leading by 64% , Magufuli 31% and other candidates well below 05%. Number of sample size taken were 20,000 people from all 5 cities of Tanzania (Mwanza, Dar, Tanga, Arusha and Mbeya). The same institution will conduct another Opinion Poll in Rural Tanzania areas and provide report before the end of September. This study is funded by the government of Canada through Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)''.
