On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I offer our best wishes to the people of Mongolia as you celebrate your National Day on July 11. Today is of particular importance as it coincides with Mongolia’s decision 25 years ago this month to follow the path of democracy and free markets, becoming a model for others in the region and worldwide. Today, three million Mongolians enjoy the freedom to choose their government and have a direct hand in shaping their futures. The people of the United States will continue to work side by side with the people of Mongolia to build a better future, as we continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our two countries and work to deepen our political, economic, and security ties. On this day, we offer our congratulations to Mongolia on a quarter century of democracy and look forward to a bright future ahead. |
