Job Title

Sales Manager – Passenger Cars

Required no. Of years of experience

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in field sales of Passenger Cars.

Overseas experience specifically from Africa would be preferable. (Should be a Tanzanian National)

Educational Qualification

Should be necessarily an engineering graduate with post-graduation in management specialized in sales / marketing from a reputed institution.

Location

Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

Role and Responsibility

Product lines to be handled:

Cars: Premium cars, Saloon Cars, Passenger Cars.

Management of Sales:

·         Achieve annual budget and KPI’s set

·         Manage the Sales including Tender business of passenger cars and its pick up

·         Responsible for achieving budgets – Sales, GP, NP and Net Working Capital

·         Manage the Key Accounts that contribute over 80% of the business

·         Responsible for Price, Promotions, Positioning, People, Place

·         Develop working relations with Key customers, fleet owners, corporate, mining companies etc

  • Tender business, Preparing Technical and commercial Offers
  • Develop working relationship with ministries, govt. departments, tender board etc
  • To manage, develop, innovate various schemes to improve sales
  • To keep track of competition move, their products, price, performance
  • Responsible for keeping the Principals /Manufactures updated about the market information and competition activities

Improving Customer Services:

  • To be responsible for customer satisfaction.
  • To be committed in supplying products and services to exceed customer expectation.
  • Execute assignments with sense of urgency.
  • To take the ownership of the assignments.
  • To liaise effectively with Sales, Service, Parts and Finance Departmental Managers.
  • To develop team work
  • Provide onsite training to sales staff and involve them in departmental achievements.

Required Profile

(Candidate should have exposed to)

 

·      Should be a preferably engineering graduate with post-graduation in management specialized in marketing from a reputed institution.  

·      Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales, at least 4 years in managerial position.

·      Should have exposure to major premium brands of Cars. Should have a thorough knowledge of product, need to be able to understand customer needs and offer products accordingly.

·      Overseas experience will be preferred.  

·      Should be computer savvy and should be proficient in MS Office and relevant software

·      Have knowledge of a wide range of sales techniques and concepts

·      Be an excellent communicator

·      Be able to respond well to pressure

·      Work well in a team and with a wide range of people

·      Be organized and methodical

·      Be proactive and able to take the initiative

·      Be well presented with a professional manner

·      Have a good business awareness

·      Be able to work within a budget

Role and Responsibility

-       Meet the customers, open the doors for discussions, and identify customer needs, provide suitable product offerings

-       Develop customer relationship, manage CRM, Market intelligence,  

-       Keep track of competitor’s activities, advice management about counter actions being taken to ensure we are ahead of the competition.

-       Creating business opportunities for the company by proactively pursuing with potential customers and coordinating with related parties like consultants, financiers, government agencies etc.

-       Adherence to compliances and company’s HSE policy.

-       Paying close attention to daily operations, recommending and creating improved courses of action, where necessary.

-       Communicating effectively with each departmental manager on daily/ weekly basis to review departmental forecasts and ensure consistency with annual projections.

-       Focusing on any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify and taking the necessary steps to resolve these complaints.

-       Ensuring the profitability of the company.

To work with colleagues in the Contracts, Projects, Technical experts  from Onsite Energy, Mining verticals and seek their assistance as and when required while trying to initiate, follow up, conclude and execute sales.

-       Planning, motivating and coordinating the staff through leadership and sound business practices and attain continuous improvements.

-       Developing and maintaining customer relationship at the highest level.

-       Controlling and monitoring Net Working Capital of the company and ensuring that limits are not exceeded.

-       Preparing and submitting the annual budgets and achieve the approved annual budgets.

Controlling expenses and achieving profitability.

-       Monitoring daily Auto line (ADP) reports and deal with necessary action. You will also ensure that every staff member uses ADP effectively.

-       Planning and developing short and long-term goals and objectives annually, and submitting time projections to corporate management for approval.

-       Explaining the policies and procedures of the company to all employees and following up to ensure that these issues are understood and followed.

-       Maintaining an enthusiastic attitude to build positive employee attitudes and morale.

-       Establishing good working relations with all government entities necessary to run the business.

-       Maintain the company image in line with its Core Values.

-       Liasoning with the Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Legal, Costing & IT departments at the shared service office in India.         

Required Profile

-       Should be mature, strong administrative skills, self-driven, result oriented, ambitious and ready to take challenges.  

-       Should be a preferably an engineering graduate from a premier institute with post-graduation in management. 

-       Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Sales, Aftermarket and at least 5 years in a senior managerial position.

-       Should have good networking in the country/region especially in the sectors that we are working ( Mining, Rail,

Transport), government, and institutions that have linkage with business in the country/region.

-       Should be computer savvy and should be proficient in MS Office.

-       Should be an excellent communicator, negotiator, respond well under pressure, work with team of multi cultures.

-       Should be a leader to motivate and inspire the team.

-       Should have worked with high profile companies/distributors/associates like Caterpillar, Cummins, Atlas Copco,

Komatsu, Mercedes, ZF, Volvo, MAN, etc.

Key performance Area

  • Head the operations of the company and run a profitable P&L.
  • Product lines Trucks, Generators, Engines, Locomotives, Transmissions, Hydraulics, Filtration, Tyres, and Consumables etc.
  • Services – Distribution ( Sales & Aftermarket), Solution providing, MARC Contracts, Contract Mining,

Tyre Management services, Finance & Operating Leasing, Tender business, etc.

  • Application: Rail, Power, Mining, Oil & Gas, Transport, Construction, Retail and others
  • Should be able to prepare annual budgets, monitor KPI’s, device means of rectifying the deviations.
  • Conduct weekly, monthly meetings with the managers and monitor day to day operations.
  • Adherence to compliances.
  • Creating business opportunities for the company.
