Acting Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Travels to Colombia

Acting Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Michele T. Bond will visit Colombia, May 27–29, for the U.S.-Colombia Consular Dialogue. She will meet her counterpart, Ambassador Javier Dario Higuera Angel, Director of Migration, Consular and Citizen Services, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss consular protection, citizenship, visa, and other issues, including a model for mutual assistance in natural disasters.

Acting Assistant Secretary Bond will also visit the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, where she will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the renovated visa pavilion, which hosts more than a half million visa applicants annually.
