Our Family Debate today is based on the findings on the face of the Daily Nation that "One in 10 men are beaten by wives." And so we tried to go further and find out "which men are these?" Its coming out that no ordinary disagreement will lead to a married woman raising a strong beating finger on her dear husband. So then, what are the possible extraordinary disagreements that can really cause a married woman to beat up her husband? They all yelled out, "cheating !" But again they recant that, "just cheating will not make a Nyanza/Western married woman beat up her husband. On the other hand, it will for a wife from Kirinyaga, Nyeri and Kiambu." I dont know about that but we continued to find out. They said cheating without fully providing for your family will definately make the Central Kenya woman beat up the husband. "Nyanza/Western Kenya men cheat but they still fully provide at home unlike the Central Kenya men." They said. Then the Central men said "we do not cheat for nothing." It cant be that soon after you get a baby then i become nothing to be concerned about in the house because all your mind is on the baby. I can find pleasure and fun from those others who are ready and willing to provide it when you are too busy with the children." Apparently, a Central Kenya woman doesn't let off a baby for her marriage. And that they will 'keep the baby in their matrimonial bed' even for as long as 4 years ! wow !!! The men said, "dont you even notice that our women's children belong to them so much that they would not leave behind a child even after a divorce? They would rather go and attach her own name to the child's. No other women do that. And so, not so many other Kenyan women beat up their husbands like its done in Central Kenya. I don't know if you can confirm these findings.....HAVE YOUR SAY.
