Ambassador Catherine Russell, Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, U.S. Department of State, Co-Head of Delegation Ambassador Michele Sison, U.S. Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Co-Head of Delegation Ambassador David Dunn, U.S. Representative on the UN Economic and Social Council, Deputy Head of Delegation Anne C. Richard, Assistant Secretary for Population, Refugees, and Migration, U.S. Department of State Kathy Greenlee, Assistant Secretary for Aging and Administrator of the Administration for Community Living, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Judith Heumann, Special Advisor for International Disability Rights, U.S. Department of State They are accompanied by the following six Public Delegates: Urooj Arshad, Associate Director, Advocates for Youth Gary Barker, International Director and Founder, Promundo Ellen Chesler, Senior Fellow, Roosevelt Institute Lidia Soto Harmon, CEO, Girl Scouts Council of the National Capital Ann Starrs, President and CEO, Guttmacher Institute Susan Sygall, CEO and Co-Founder, Mobility International USA Other members of the U.S. Delegation include technical experts from the Department of State, including the United States Mission to the United Nations and several bureaus and offices; USAID; the Department of Health and Human Services; the Millennium Challenge Corporation; as well as officials from the White House and Representative Carolyn Maloney (NY-12). The theme of this year’s session is the twentieth anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, including current challenges that affect its implementation and the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women. The session will also address opportunities for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women in the post-2015 development agenda. For more information on the CSW, please click here.
