Under Secretary Novelli Travel to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia

Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Catherine Novelli will travel to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, March 27-April 3.

In Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Under Secretary Novelli will meet with Foreign Ministry officials. She will tour Kinabalu Park, a World Heritage Site, with Sabah State Ministry of Environment officials and provide opening remarks at the 2015 ASEAN Regional Forum Workshop to Combat Wildlife Trafficking. In Kuala Lumpur, Under Secretary Novelli will lead the U.S delegation to the 2015 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Telecommunications and Information Ministerial Meeting (TELMIN) and visit CIMB ASEAN Research Institute (CARI) to discuss regional integration efforts. She will also meet with officials from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Finance. Under Secretary Novelli will discuss innovation with entrepreneurs and the leaders of the Malaysia Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC).

In Singapore, Under Secretary Novelli will meet with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade and Industry. She will also meet with representatives from the American Chamber of Commerce of Singapore and host a roundtable discussion with entrepreneurs, investors, and government agencies working to promote innovation and foster technological development in the local economy.

In Indonesia, Under Secretary Novelli is scheduled to meet with representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Communications and Informatics. She will discuss e-commerce and internet governance with local business leaders, and meet with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia and the US-ASEAN Business Council. She will launch the bilateral Wildlife Trafficking Action Plan at @america and later sit down with experts on oceans issues.
