Over the past two years, Chatham House's Afghanistan: Opportunity in Crisis project has explored how Western governments can encourage and support stability in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of foreign troops.
Building on decades of research, Chatham House used its convening, research and analytical resources to identify policy options, promote more inclusive politics and improve the prospects for a political resolution of the conflict. Challenges remain, but after decades of conflict, Afghanistan faces a unique opportunity to achieve political stability and peace.
