MALAWI TO ADOPT PRO-GAY LAWS, MUTHARIKA PROMISES OBAMA
In a surprise turn of events, Malawi is now likely to incorporate pro-gay laws in the constitution following President Peter Mutharika's one-on-one meeting with US President, Barack Obama some hours ago.
According to exclusive information forwarded to us soon after the meeting took place, Obama raised concerns to Mutharika on how Malawi has failed to adopt laws that give homosexuals their right of association.
"The US President reprimanded the Malawi leader for his country's reluctance to give all citizens equal opportunities and freedoms. Obama pointed out that Malawi's previous leaders have stagnated the issue and it was his hope that Mutharika will do the needful in regards to decriminalising the act," said the source.
In his response, Mutharika assured Obama that with necessary financial support his government can push key stakeholders to embrace homosexual ideas thereby convincing all Malawians on the same.
"Mutharika informed Obama that for the laws to be changed he will have to call for a referendum as such a strong campaign should be in place to change people's mindset. At this point Mutharika asked Obama to source enough funds to fund organizations in Malawi who will advocate vehemently for the cause"
The outcome of the meeting will come as a shock to many Malawians who still stand against homosexuality labelling it as evil and unGodly.
Recently, the Roman Catholic church aired out its views against Malawi adopting pro-gay laws.
