Press Releases: Department of State Promotes U.S. Aerospace and Defense Technology at the Farnborough Air Show 07/11/2014 01:00 PM EDT Department of State Promotes U.S. Aerospace and Defense Technology at the Farnborough Air Show Media Note Office of the Spokesperson Washington, DC July 11, 2014 Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Ken Handelman and Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs Scott Nathan will join a delegation of senior U.S. officials at the Farnborough Air Show in the United Kingdom on July 13-16, 2014. The delegation will advocate for U.S. companies bidding on foreign commercial and defense contracts, promote U.S. defense sales abroad, and discuss how Export Control Reform supports our partners and allies. Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James will head the U.S. delegation, which will also include Department of Defense Undersecretary for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Frank Kendall, and Department of Commerce Deputy Undersecretary for International Trade Kenneth Hyatt, and Assistant Secretary for Export Administration Kevin Wolf. Senior military leadership from the U.S. European Command will also attend. The U.S. government promotes and supports U.S. industry through the daily efforts of employees in over 200 U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide.
