Are you one of the 150,000 people in the United States who purchased tickets to the 2014 World Cup? Tune into the Department of State’s Google+ Hangout on May 7 at 3:30 p.m. EDT to hear advice and ask questions about preparing for your trip to Brazil and what to expect when you arrive. Grant Wahl, leading soccer journalist and senior writer at Sports Illustrated, will discuss his experience attending large-scale sporting events. Officials from the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Brasilia will highlight services the U.S. government, through our consular sections in U.S. embassies and consulates abroad, can offer to U.S. citizen travelers. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf will moderate this discussion. The event will be broadcast live on the Department of State’s YouTube channel and Google+ page. Questions can be submitted in advance via Facebook and Twitter using #AskTravelGov and tweeting at @StateDept or @TravelGov. |
