Ambassador Richard Olson, Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, traveled to Islamabad on January 11 to participate in a quadrilateral meeting with the Governments of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China. In the meeting, Ambassador Olson expressed U.S. support for an Afghan-led, Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process as the surest way to end violence and ensure lasting stability in Afghanistan and the region. He also met with senior Pakistani government officials to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues. |
