Coordinator for Threat Reduction Programs, Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins, will lead a U.S. interagency delegation to Nairobi, Kenya, January 5–7, to advance the ongoing Threat Reduction in Africa (TRIA) study. TRIA is an innovative effort organized by Ambassador Jenkins’ office and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), part of the U.S. Department of Defense, to promote coordination, increase collaboration, and encourage efficient, effective and sustainable implementation of U.S. government threat reduction resources and activities in Africa. While in Nairobi, the team will consult with U.S. Embassy personnel and Kenyan colleagues about programs in the areas of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear security, to include export controls and global health security.
