Shannon, Counselor of the Department of State, will travel to Guatemala City from October 7-9. Ambassador Shannon will meet with senior Guatemalan officials and members of civil society to discuss issues related to security, governance, and economic prosperity. He will discuss progress made under the Alliance for Prosperity, a regional plan developed by the leaders of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. Counselor Shannon will also deliver remarks at the National Business Forum (ENADE), an annual event that brings together Guatemalan leaders from the private sector, government, and civil society to discuss issues of common concern.
